Hangin' Out with My Friends

Gavin has lots of friends that are very close to his age and we get together regularly which is lots of fun. It is always entertaining to get the babies all together on the couch and looking the same direction - let alone smiling. Gotta love it - these will be great to show them when they get older.

Gavin has another Girlfriend

We went and took dinner over to our friends Brad & Brigitte and got to hang out with Gavin's new friend, Gabrielle. She is so cute - and so little! It is hard to believe that Gavin was once that little too. Another "girlfriend" for Gavin to grow up with...

Gabby tried to get in Gavin's carseat too - not sure what he thought of that?!?!?!

Rollin' Over

Milestone Time!!! Gavin rolled over for the first time this morning and did it again to show Mommy but when we got the video camera - no dice. But, not being one to give up, Daddy and Gavin went down to the soft carpet in the basement this afternoon with the video camera and nailed it right away. I was obviously more excited than he was, but then again, it was pretty awesome. Daddy is proud of himself, milestone accomplished and captured on video in the same day!

Lunch with Dan

Gavin got to meet our good friend, Dan over the weekend. It is nice that Cincinnati serves as a major airport hub - so when family/friends fly through - we can sometimes try to see them over their layover. In this case - it worked out great to see Dan and catch up over lunch. Gavin was very excited to meet Dan and we hopefully will get to see him Charlotte in March when we head down to the Carolinas for vacation.

David & Judy were the Best Babysitters

You gotta love when family want to come and visit us - especially to see Gavin and hang out in the cold weather in Cincinnati. David & Judy (my aunt and uncle) drove over from Illinois to have a get-away weekend away from their busy lives and spend some time in Cincinnati. AND - they even enjoyed babysitting Gavin while we went out with our friends, Mark & Melody. Thank you for doing that - Gavin loved spending time with you both! It was a fun weekend and we enjoyed our time together.

Spring Training is upon us...

That's right, Gavin is gearing up for baseball season, and is excited he is fitting into his 3-6 months gear now. Looking like a big year for the Tigers.

Tummy Time

"Gavin - look at Mommy...."

(SERIOUSLY MOM - you want me to take a photo now?!?!?!)

Gotta love that tummy time each day.

Is Gavin in Mommy & Daddy's Bed?

How did I get in this bed??? This is WAY bigger than my bed...

Oh - there's Daddy....

One of the greatest sounds you can hear-baby laughing

Here is some video from our awesome weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Gillard. Great footage of playing with the two of them and Grandpa getting me to laugh and giggle...

3 months today!

Happy 3 months to Gavin today! We just can't believe how fast he is growing. Here are some things that Gavin is doing now:
- he loves sucking his fingers, thumb and is drooling like crazy (could he be teething already?)
- his smiles, coos and laugh just melt your heart and you wonder what is going on in that little mind of his
- we swear that Gavin can say "hi" - but again, that is in his language of course and it sounds like "hi"
- he is ticklish under his arms - it brings a big smile and sometimes a little laugh
- he is holding and grabbing onto toys
- he loves getting his diaper changed and being naked (glad he got past that one - when he was born he wasn't a big fan of not having clothes on)
- those blue eyes just keep getting bigger and he has very long eyelashes
- loves watching tv (this continues...); we may need to start putting in more "children appropriate" shows - although, he loves watching reality TV and sports (mom and dad's favorites)
- he kicks and kicks his legs (I sometimes think he is trying to go somewhere)
- enjoys his bouncy seat and can completely scoot his way out of there

He continues to be the love of our lives and we adore him. Thank you Gavin for bringing so much joy into our lives - we love being your parents.

Visit from Grandma & Grandpa G.

What a fun weekend! We loved spending time with Scott's parents this weekend (a.k.a Grandma & Grandpa Gillard) that drove down from Michigan.

Grandpa got Gavin laughing which was so adorable! It just melts your heart and he loved every minute of it. And, he loved snuggling with Grandma too.

Thank you for coming to visit - we always enjoy seeing you and Gavin loved spending time with his G's from Michigan!

Fun, New Toy!

Scott put together Gavin's gymnastics playgym (OK - fancy name for a seat that Gavin can bounce in and play with the lights and toys) this weekend. He MAY be a little too short to really get bouncing in it - but he enjoyed the lights, music & toys. And, Grandma & Grandpa got to witness this for the first time too.

This is what happens....

when you play so hard that you fall asleep right on your playmat....

**This had never happened before - so a first! He can take naps right on his playmat now...

Our Little Valentine

Gavin's 1st Valentine's Day - we have so much love for our little baby! We have much to be thankful for and Gavin continues to bless our lives each and every day. We had another photo shoot for V-day, so be sure to check out all the "amateur" photos that Scott/I took:

We hope you all have a day full of love and joy with your loved ones and from all of us....many xoxoxox!

More babies - Kasen

Yeah - another boy and a friend for Gavin. Kasen James is the son of our friends, Ryan & Jen. We were so excited to meet Kasen and everyone is doing great. Unfortunately, Ryan/Jen are moving to Kansas City very soon - so Gavin won't get to play with Kasen for very long. BUT - we wish them all the best and hopefully we will get to see each other as the boys grow up.
Gavin was totally checking out the pacificer that has a doggie attached to it - pretty cool! And, as you can tell from the photos - Gavin was drooling like crazy - could he be getting teeth already?!?!?! YIKES!

Gavin and all the girls

Gavin has another girlfriend, Gabrielle - and of course, he is hanging out with all the girls again....
And, don't you love trying to take photos and have everyone looking at the camera - that is pretty impossible...

Love the Hospital Bed

Greta - where is Brigitte? Do you like that hospital bed???

Oh, there is Gavin trying out the bed too with Brigitte...

Gavin, Greta & Gabrielle

Melanie, Joe & Greta were also at the hospital visiting Gabrielle too... here were some additional photos of everyone holding the new baby.

Another new baby, Gabrielle

Our friends, Brad & Brigitte had their little girl, Gabrielle Rae this past weekend on Friday evening. We all went to visit them this afternoon and meet the adorable Gabrielle. She weighed 7 lbs. 14 ounces and is so adorable.... We are glad they are all doing well.

And gotta love those "G" baby names...

Breakfast at Brueggers

Scott and I love going out to breakfast on the weekends - especially to our favorite bagel shop - Brueggers. We have our little ritual of getting bagels, coffee and reading the paper. Although, we don't read the paper so much because we have new entertainment these days.... Gavin! Today he loved looking and playing with Daddy - and he even was playing in Scott's nose... yikes!

Happy Birthday Grandma G.

Today is Grandma Gillard's birthday... and although we can't be with her today, we are definitely thinking and wishing her lots of love on her special day. Can't wait to see you this weekend Grandma G.... xoxoxox

More Smiles and Cute Hats

Gavin loves to smile and talk these days... so we love getting photos of him.... and mommy/I love taking pics of him in his adorable little hats too.... I think I'm addicted to hats on Gavin!

Thanks Grandma....

We had so much fun with Grandma C. this past week - thanks for staying this week to play, and talk, and laugh, and feed me, and bathe me, and take me on rides in the car & stroller.... but most of all, thanks for your hugs & kisses. We love you mom/Grandma!

Bathtime with Grandma

We loved having Grandma help with our tubby (bathtime). And, we even played with our first toy - the blue ducky!

On the Move

Last month when we visited with Dr. Lacker (Gavin's pediatrician), we asked him what we should watching out for in the coming months - his immediate response was "safety." ..."Gavin is going to start moving around so you just need to watch him"... boy was he right. Gavin's new trick these days is to scoot down in his bouncy seat - I think to be closer to the toys he can grab and play with - and then, this week he completed pushed himself out of the bouncy and sat right up next to it. Grandma was here and we watched the whole thing happened... and of course laughed and then took lots of pictures!

Time for a Stroller Ride

So it was 60 degrees this past week and it was great to get out of the house (We are so ready for spring...). Grandma got to push Gavin around in his stroller up to Starbucks - where we stopped in for a little treat!

Fun Times with Grandma C.

Grandma C. not only came for the weekend to see Gavin - but also is staying for the week. Since Daddy/Scott went to Colorado for some work training, I asked my mom/Grandma to stay over and help out - or more importantly, get to spend time with Gavin. We have enjoyed our few days together already... more pictures to come with highlights from the week with Grandma C. ** I will say, my mom/Grandma has developed a "new language" since coming to visit this time. She talks with Gavin in his language - who knew?!?! And, I think he understands her!

Super Bowl Party at The Nawroth's

How about them Giants? Yes - even the little babies enjoyed their 1st Super Bowl Party at the Nawroth's (that would be Ella's home). We took some time out from from eating and drinking - and oh yes, watching the game to snap a few photos of the babies - those are Gavin's friends - Greta & Ella.

Hey Homey

What's up.... like my new baseball hat? Yes - I can wear it with style to the side too. Grandpa - I think you need to move over a little bit.

I love watching TV with My Grandpa

One of Gavin's favorite activities is one of Grandpa's favorite activities - watching TV! Yes, they bonded on several occassions over the weekend watching some ESPN. Go figure - I think Grandpa really wants him to play sports when he grows up, what do you think? And, the new baseball hat was a gift from G&G for Valentine's Day.

Grandma & Grandpa Cross come to visit

Grandma & Grandpa came to visit us this past weekend - who am I kidding, they came to visit Gavin. They were suppose to come on Friday, however, due to 11 inches of snow that fell in Illinois, they decided to wait and come on Saturday morning instead. We had a very fun weekend - Super Bowl party and all.

My Friend, Greta (and our crazy moms)

Gavin's friend, Greta came over to visit (and mom, Melanie too) yesterday. So, of course we had to get some new photos of the two of them together. Melanie and I were dying laughing... and as you can see from the photos, Gavin & Greta thought we were losing our minds! It is pretty entertaining to put two babies on the couch, have them sit up without falling over (or in this case - we just leaned them on each other) and then try for the smiles. The things you do as parents to get your babies to smile and laugh - well not only was I doing it, but so was Melanie. I think Gavin & Greta thought we were crazy... thanks for coming over to visit Greta and Melanie!
